Yep, I love mine. For a few extra quid I know it'll take everything the BWA will be able to throw at it.

Thanks for the replies. I did ask for switchable maps but nik said my ecu would not take them. Im waiting for nik to come in today to speak with him regarding the issue. I dont really want to go down the upgraded clutch path but i also dont want to put another luk in and still find it slips.

Drive around the issue (i.e. drive it properly and rev the thing!) until you have the money to change the clutch and DMF. If sticking with stage 1 or stage 2 then a standard one is fine..... Parts are around the £300-350 mark, plus labour

Do you not have switchable maps?

You definitely don't need an updated clutch, standard will take all a mapped K03 can muster (if you don't go silly and perform constant traffic light starts). Standard clutch drives nicer than a heavier updated version.

A few different reply's there, thanks.
r-tech have agreed to put a new map on with less power/torque. Ill see how that goes and when/if it slips again ill to go for a luk clutch and flywheel from carpartsforless. I really don't want to spend out on uprated parts or change the feel of the clutch.

Is it just me that is surprised it slips in sixth and not in the lower gears?

No that's when it usually happens, high gear - low rpm's. All the torque puts lots of strain on the friction plates, when in lower gears it spins more freely and so doesn't slip or slips much less.

No reason for Helix over the Sachs alternative other than Alex at AKS recommended it and that is and was good enough for me. Plus I had my Eddy's torque taken up to 420ft lb while having the 2+ map done by Niki a few back and it was still holding strong........as I said.........immense clutch (had it taken back down to 370ft lb as not to tempt fate).

Manual.

After first having it fitted it was no more than approx 30% heavy but soon bedded in and was no heavier/stiffer than the previous OEM feel. Overall a much better feel IMHO.

what sort of money are the upgraded clutchs? carparts4less do the luk one for a very good price of 125!

Have a look at a previous GB Alex at AKS did, similar prices these days I imagine. Should be able to get an uprated Organic clutch (plus fit a new DMF at the same time) and fitting for all under £1k so not to bad.

OEM LUK clutch, DMF and CSC = £325 ish quid from Carparts4less with discount codes applied

Uprated Helix item and new DMF = RRP £880+ apparently, although seen plenty obtain them for the £750 mark.... still double the price when it isn't needed at Stage 1

Their prices are high at the moment, higher than usual - probably because they're offering the 10% clutch code

£380 is still a lot better than the RRP of £880. I'd wait it out or shop around elsewhere

Just checked Eurocarparts...... Clutch, DMF, flywheel bolts and a new CSC (you need all of this) is currently £364.92
