if its just the door mirror glass then yes, vw or tps should be able to sort you out with a replacement

I have never seen it happen on any car. I just seen it fly away and shatter just in front on the car behind. Cheers for the replies I'll be phoning for a replacement tomorrow

My nearside did similar. Just fell off!

Was away working, and local stealers said 3 days delivery!

Halfrauds nearby had stock, appx £10 ish, did the job in 10 mns. Get some acetone or similar to really "prime" the base plate on car. In my case nail varnish remover ( the raw kind, no oils n it) from Boots next door.
Fine for 18m now...

My passenger mirror did exactly the same a while back and left a nice scratch on the door!

Got an OE quality replacement from Euro Car Parts for about £22

Out of curiousity @An0NyMOUs did it have the complete backing meaning simply just clip on and go?.

Probably better than the Halfrauds? That's just glass- no plastic carrier.
