Could Twintake owners please check and report back...
« on: January 15, 2010, 08:00:28 pm »
Been looking at a k03 GTi yesterday that had one of these fitted.

On checking the fitment I noticed that the top cannister was touching a hard bit of plastic that was attached to the intake manifold via a rubber tube (vacuum related me thinks).

Could you twintake owners of either k03 or k04 cars please check to see that you have clearance between these two items as I think this could be just a fitment issue.

And in case your lost as to where to look, I've circled the area on one of RR's review pics

It's a tight spot in there, the EVOMS sits close to it as well.

Sure it's breakable, it's small and plastic.

I think it's a non return for the vacuum and it connects directly to the inlet manifold.

They must have changed the EVOM's heatshield as I cut a hole in mine to get the valve to fit

I then covered the hole with heat protective film to stop heat from the engine being pulled into the intake area :happy2:

PS..... I also have engine mounts, so the engine won't move anywhere now
