Sourcing power
« on: June 08, 2016, 07:25:12 am »
Guys I am fitting a pioneer headunit in my MK5 Golf GTi and I am looking to get power from somewhere, I want the headunit to turn off like the standard unit when I remove the key. Has anyone any recommendations. All help greatly appreciated

This may sound silly.... But why not use the standard wiring loom and buy an ISO adapter if needed?

Use a piggyback fuse to a switched live at your drivers side fusebox, run a length of cable to it. (Ebay search add a circuit).

Or buy a Pioneer CAN interface.

The standard loom won't give a switched live with an ISO converter loom
Used to have Edition 30 - number 009 and a GT TDI 140.
Now have an S4 B8 Avant (stage 2)
