Would they guarantee someone else's wheels against being buckled and also genuine?

This was one of my fears, or even the fact that some Monza's have deeper white worm than others depending on the severity of their damage. I could get a crap set with deep kerbing that have just been filled.

Are some wheels past recovery? if that is case, then I think mine definitely qualify - mine are the worst I've ever seen :(

Not past recovery but from talking to him, apparently any deep kerbing over a few mm will need filling. He mentioned something along doing a line of weld but I can't see that working out well and even if it did look good there and then surely it wouldn't have the same longevity as a good set!

Mate, no disrespect to you at all and the wheels do look O.K !!  but after the money you've spent are you really happy with just O.K. ?  You want the wheels the look stunning and also in the colour of your choice NOT theirs.  Of course there is something they can do. They can take the wheels back and re-do them to your specification. They will look much better in a darker grey as it will separate the wheel more and therefore highlight the diamond cut effect. You'll never be 100% happy with them as they are, I'd definately be going back to them to get it sorted. Let us know how you get on in the end mate  :happy2:

I think you needent worry to be honest... it's a fair offer they made and I can't imagine there being any issues.
It's exactly the same as buying used wheels and never had any issues there..

Id be just driving back up and asking for them to be taken off and repainted in the colour you wanted!! You payed a lot to get them refurbed and could have got them done a lot cheaper but you payed for what you thought was gonna be a good job!!As for taking some one else's wheels theirs no actual way of making sure they give you back your own wheels anyway so that wouldn't bother me!!

Ok I've left it a few days to think and I've decided I'm definitely not happy with the light grey inserts so I'm taking him up on his offer to replace them....

What I need to know is what is the exact colour code of the inserts does anyone know? I estimated close to LA7T, the colour of my car. It was just slightly lighter than this.

What colour have you lads gone for?

This is my old colour:

Doesn't matter if they look ok or not.

You asked for them a particular service and they took your money.

You haven't got that service, whats more, what they did provide was late and a bit shit.

It's not rocket science.

I would prefer them with black inserts like the mk6 Golf GTI have.

Audi titanium L8AU might look good for the inserts if you're getting them redone.

I had a set of monzas painted in L8AU:

@FJ1000 could just be the photo quality but I can hardly differentiate from the diamond cut face and the inserts on those photos. Is the entire wheel in Audi titanium L8AU?

I'm looking for the diamond cut face with the (what I think is called anthracite grey) inserts for contrast like my original set:

Ah, no - I was just trying to show you a darker grey colour that might look good for the inserts. I'm a big fan of the Audi titanium colour!

The images I posted are wheels that were painted, no diamond cutting.

@lukemk5gti did they paint the inserts afterwards. I'd be inclined to agree that wether or not they look ok, it's not what you asked for if they were dirt cheap then yeh fine but they weren't. It's the difference between going to McDonald's and getting a sh*tty Big Mac which looks nothing like the picture, and going to the ivy and getting exactly what you pay for.

Hang on...  I don't get it...
You go to them and order a specific colour and they paint it a different colour because THEY think it would look better.

You don't like it and want the colour that you ORDERED and the ONLY option is to swap the whole wheel with another customers?

Why isn't them repainting them an option? How is that not possible? They sound shocking.

Pretty much exactly what happened yes. I'm not entirely happy with changing my wheels with someone elses but I've agreed that I'll call into him on Monday to examine the condition of the next wheels before they go in for any work. If they're in bits I'll have him redo mine entirely.
