Bluetooth install
« on: June 01, 2016, 07:22:18 pm »
So I've got a Bluetooth kit on its way, I've found a guide to install it

The question I have is can I do anything with this ugly lump sticking out of the dashboard?

Also can I use the original Nokia box to head unit cable?

And one last thing, can I strip this out, whatever it is and maybe fit a USB port to charge my phone? If so what bits n bobs do I need?

Cheers  :happy2:

If you remove the ugly lump in the dashboard you'll have 2 holes. Not sure what you can do to cover it neatly, though...

The original wiring loom misses 2 wires for stereo sound, so you either update the loom or buy a new one (if not you'll just have sound from the right side speakers).

You can fit a MDI module with a USB cable to have a USB port in the armrest in the space you currently have with an iPod connector.

Yeah....make sure you remove the bluetooth controller, for that ugly lump too.
If not it'll conflict and cause the new bluetooth to keep failing

From what leericho explained in the other topic he opened due to the BT install problem, he got a 7P6 BT module, so he needs to replace the old module with the 7P6, update the wiring loom to have stereo sound and code the new BT module correctly.

Got this all sorted and up and running, turned out the cars previous owner had already bought a replacement glovebox to get rid of the phone cradle, removed the old Bluetooth unit under the seat, put new unit under the radio above the ac controls.
I had a few issues due to the fact my battery shat it's self during the install. Once I had a new battery it sorted it's self out.
There wasn't any need to swap any cores or anything, bout the new Bluetooth from a member on here.

Very happy with it.

Only thing now is the arm rest iPod dock doesn't work, any ideas gents?
