Stage 1 remap
« on: June 02, 2016, 01:57:42 pm »
When I bought my mk5 gti 2 months ago the previous owner told me he thought it had been mapped. Is there anyone near Bournemouth running a Stage 1 map so I can compare as I have my doubts about this. I have it booked in to Rtech next month and would like to know before I make the 320 mile round trip. If not is there any way of me finding out without having it Dyno'd.

I think there's a way of getting a fairly accurate bhp figure by logging maf values with vcds.

I'm sure someone with the software will be able to confirm that.

Can you not also check specified/requested boost with VCDS?
Cant remember stock peak boost level though. 15PSI?

Or... take another GTI for a test drive from a used car dealer and see how it compares to yours. :driver:

Bit harsh  :signLOL:

You just need to log MAF through VCDS - then devide by 0.8 to get a rough bhp

Boost pressure specified & actual will also tell you. if it is a stage one map with no mods it should be around 18psi
