Spreader needed for Lowering

where could i purchase one of these??

how much are they?

are they really essential for changing springs??

its not the spring clamps im after but cheers for looking anyway mate

its the spreader tool so i can get the strut off

Dont you need the spline tool to get the strut off? I had to buy a set of spline sockets from Halfords, think they were about £20 ish!

im not sure tbh all i see in the lowering threads is a tool call the spreader tool

im confused haha cars gettin lowered on sunday and the tool is needed

Just use a bolster chisel something with a thick tapered end will do it. Dont go spending your money on something your only gonna use once.

Make one. 

Measure the gap in the strut, and get an allen key close to that size.  I think it is approx 6mm.  Then file/grind a flat on one of the points of the key, and then all you need to do is insert the key and turn it until the slot opens and sits on the flat and the opposite point.
