Help! Oil pressure low STOP
« on: June 02, 2016, 08:02:11 pm »
So long story short been having a blast in the Pirelli for a good few months now...

Until now...

Basically got a oil pressure stop sign on dash so pulled straight over and got recovered back home to trusted garage... The trusted garage then diagnosed an oil pump failiure as a bolt had snapped off. He then advised me the part is £1200+vat and can only be sourced through VW.

Long story after going to VW and now back at my trusted garage the parts exspensive. Is there anyway to get a cheaper part else where?

Iv looked but to no avail...

Thanks!

You should have got pictures of the failed part/bolt from the garage as I don't trust any garages!!!

These guys are Genuine and are defiantly better than my local VW who wanted to fill it with oil and then start her up... Which could of resulted in a seized engine after me telling them the pumps shot... Now I know why they call them stealers  :signLOL:

As above, go for a mk4 1.8turbo oil pump - much stronger.

I think you'll have to make sure your engine hasn't suffered more terminal damage as a result of oil starvation. Unfortunately damage can be done before the light even appears.
