Edition 35 Wheels......
« on: June 05, 2016, 05:03:33 pm »
Hi all

I am looking at purchasing an Edition 35, with these optional 19" wheels fitted.

I would like to change to the 18" versions, but what do you think the is the chance of finding immaculate examples, or reasonably priced new...?

Many thanks

You can still buy new from TPS but they are silly money, keep an eye out on eBay as they very occasionally come up. They are called "watkins glen" alloys for searching  :happy2: Many sellers have what they refer to as Watkins Glen style alloys which are replicas of these and are cheap but they are fakes so make sure you hold out for genuine wheels  :drinking:

just out of curiosity; why would one steer clear of the "GTI Style" wheels that are all over eBay? Honest question.... are they heavier? made with worse material?

In my humble opinion getting a replica anything is like buying prescription drugs  from an Internet doctor.. Youv no idea what's in them or how they were made

Just to update this, the dealer let me down, and sold the ED35 just prior to be arriving!

Now placed a deposit on a 2013 MK7 GTI for similar money.

Cheers!
