Just booked it in to have it scanned and looked at. Thanks for the advice. Hopefully they can sort it.

Just scanned?

Thanks for the link @Dan_FR I thought the link was dead as ive clicked it a couple of times from various sources and it hasn't worked. Cheers. I might do a guide for the AXX seeing as I haven't found a guide for it yet - providing it goes well!

Link does work, perhaps a browser issue or a lack of PDF viewer?

To be honest I wouldn't worry about a guide too much, the only difference is you skip the step for removing the diverter valve - rest of it is the same process.

@Craig Stanley where are you based? A full datalogging session is what would be needed, looking at the misfire counter ro see if its a misfire causing the issues etc. There are plenty of enthusiasts on here with VCDS who would be able to help. Another possibility is a vacuum leak of some description, bad MAF reading etc. which can be indicated through large fuel trim adaptions (again through VCDS)

It could even be the fans of they are failing and drawing too much current?

Just as a comparison, when my fans are on I cannot even tell from inside the car with the windows up.... cannot hear it, no change in engine note. The only time the engine note ever changes on idle is if I turn the A/C on... then you can tell slightly as the idle is a little lower and sounds a little laboured.

I'm down in Bournemouth and judging by most on here your all miles away. Would be nice if anyone is near me as I'm starting to get a bit fed up taking it to specialist's that charge £65- £85 per hour for diagnostic testing. Starting to cost me a lot of money. Again thanks for your help chaps.

When I just spoke to them they said exactly what you said about fuel trims etc. Anyway see what happens.

Humble Mechanic has done a how-2 video on removing the inlet manifold on a TSI engine - I've not compared the 2 guides together but I can't imagine the process will be massively different for a TSFI lump?
