Morning all!
So I've been trying to fit a MFSW to my manual 05 plate gti, with cruise control and highline. Went through the process of fitting. And after I got, on the dash, the ESP, the Steering wheel (yellow) and the Tyre monitor symbols.
Now, there has been a bit of a glitch with the install as unfortunately I was sent a mk6 airbag loom instead of a mk5, I didn't notice prior to fitting it. After the install, the horn wasn't working which I thought odd. The MFSW buttons were working and lighting up with the lights though, even though I hadn't been able to successfully insert a code for the control module. (Control module ending K which I believe is a highline module)
So yeh, I'm getting sent the mk5 airbag loom, and I'm hoping that will sort out the horn issue.
But I'm a bit stumped as to why I can't get rid of the tyre monitor symbol. If I press the button in front of the gear stick the symbol goes off and on instantly. I've tried pressing and holding the button and again the symbol just flashes off and on. No beeping to say it's been reset? vcds can't communicate with the tyre monitor controller either?
The ESP button in front of the gear stick shows OFF, and pressing it does nothing. So can't get rid of the symbol on the dash?
I should say that I have full vcds and I can fully scan the car and clear codes etc...
The codes that are coming up for the steering wheel (yellow) symbol are the steering angle sensor and one about steering position or words to that effect.
I haven't been out to try the adaption etc that rosstech advise, only as I've spent my time trying to figure out what was going on with the airbag loom and horn. When I get a chance I'll go through the steps from rosstech. On this, would this be connected to the ESP and the tyre pressure monitor?
Any thoughts/questions fire away as I'm keen to get this sorted asap
