£450 for the repair,  £1/mile for transport (which was 33% cheaper than any transport quote I found).

Raz I'm not sure of the competitor but there are less than five companies in the country doing this kind of repair.

Thanks for the info, quite a bit cheaper then a new unit! Do they offer any sort of warranty with it?

Warranty is 3 months for the ECU (as they open it up and seal it again) and lifetime for the bridge they put in place. They check all the bridges to see if they need repairing or are prone to imminent failure in order to take action there and then.

It was a very thorough job and I was glad that I had the opportunity to see it being carried out. I imagine most places wouldn't let you do that!

That's the best thing about it. They actually you watch the process and even sit beside them still. excellent customer service technique they adhere to.
