HELP!! Mk5 golf GTi problem
« on: June 17, 2016, 09:24:56 pm »
Hello, my car is a 2005 mk5 golf GTi engine code axx

The problem I'm having is when accelerating with the throttle all the way down the car will get to 3k revs with normal power and then judder/hold back at 3k revs and then sort of pushes its self out with power again but driving lightly on the throttle you can rev over 3k with no issues with power!
Also when hitting just over 100mph (full throttle) the car will then slow all the way done to just under 3k revs and during the time I lose all throttle response!?

Any help I can get will be very appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Get it plugged in and see what it comes up with. Mis fire maybe. I'd also check to see if the cam follower has been replaced

@Joee432 sounds like a cylinder misfire to me - could be spark plugs or coil packs or worst case injectors. As mentioned - get it plugged in to VCDS and see what faults come up

Thanks for the reply!

Had it plugged in and nothing comes up! The issue happened when my hpfp piston went and I've had that replaced and the cam follower! And the issue is still there!? Could it lost be a spark plug then!? I've had all new coil packs in January!

Could it be throttle body or fuel filter related at all?

What happened to the HPFP piston?

Sounds to me like maf issues.May be worth running a scan if nothing obvious shows do some logs on your air flow.
