Should i go big power

Had my Ed30 for about 7 years now and it has done 46k easy miles, i had it revo remapped about 5 years ago and love it. I hardly use the car now as i walk to work so it has become just a weekend toy that i love to clean and take for the odd spin, i have just had all the stone chips and marks done and it is absolutely pristine now i am thinking should i go more power 400 ish or leave it has it is and just enjoy it?

If your have £10k spare then blow it all on a hybrid turbo forged bottom end uprated cams hpfp LSD 

I'd blow that kind of money getting rid of the golf and purchasing an RS3

Hi thanks for your reply i do have 10k to spare as i was going to buy a rs turbo for a bit of fun but the seller turned out to be a right girl and decided not to sell it. I do like the rs3 but i am thinking i have had this car from virtually new and no what life it has had. I have also looked at the ttrs they look very tempting

I nearly got an rs turbo but like your I got a stupid  idiot wasting my time and made me strip my golf vr6 sound system and then changed his the mind prat.

I don't like the new tts although the rs is something else lol

if you're really done for it then go crazy as mentioned get it done properly forge the bottom end. cam it up. hpfp. ttrs lpfp. s3 injectors. full 3 inch cat back system. fmic. hpfr. hybrid or larger turbo stage 3 + it defo LSD.

@r5gtt BYD engines already have good enough cams and the same injectors as the S3.

If you want silly power TTE will have an upgrade to the TTE420. You won't need more than that. You'll need to buy just good quality upgrades to make the most of the hybrid turbo. 

Peron IC, 3,5" downpipe to 3" cat back from BCS, LOBA HPFP, TTRS intank pump, 155 bar FPRV, new style RS4 injectors, Revo admission, RFD kit, LSD, BBK front and rear, coilovers or sport dampers, MPSS tyres, etc.

I was thinkimg BYD engine but wasn't sure so good you've added the info here. I personally would change to a different car if funds allowed but that's just my way of thinking and an easier option for me and also a better looking car than a golf that everyone wants to race imho  @Shoduchi

A Golf can be a great all rounder but for just a weekend toy maybe a 1M or M3.

I'm no bmw fan urgh these bmw owners think they own the road which is why even a 335 got pissed over with my tt  the git caught up at the lights and asked if I was running a 3.2 so I had to shame him up and say no a 1.8T and shot off when the lights changed    M4 is a nice car looking at them but it's still a bm lol

Although you hardly use it you don't sound bored with it.
Given that I'd say leave it alone.

Some of the associated mods are big money and are arguably more useful on a track than the road but are nonetheless essential for a balanced package.

If you want something a bit more radical then sell it and use your £10k that way.

Thanks for the replies i will have to give it some more thought i do like the M3 but the road tax puts me off i think the only other car i would want is a ttrs. Maybe put the golf away i dont think i could part with it and have a look at some tt's and maybe give the m3 some thought.

My own opinion would be if I wasn't going to use it then sell it. It'll be a long time before its an appreciating classic. Spend the money you save on maintenance, insurance etc on the road tax for anything you like. Don't let that put you off your ideal car. I don't think cars like sitting doing nothing personally. Just my thoughts...
