Martin's Tornado Red DSG Edition 30
« on: June 25, 2016, 04:45:12 pm »
Hi all, i have been a member on here for a while now and thought it was about time i started a progress thread. Ive owned my edition 30 since april this year and have loved every minute of it so far! I was very lucky to find a brilliant condition low mileage example with alot of extras from the factory and also mods that previous owners, one being on the forum here had previously done.

This was the day i picked the car up and got it back to my workplace for its first clean

And one with my old car,

And here is the spec of the car,
  • Tornado Red Gti Edition 30 number 1411
  • 65,615 miles
  • Dsg (with r-tech remap)
  • Full service history
  • Convenience pack
  • Winter pack
  • Satnav inc bluetooth & steering wheel controls
  • High line dash
  • Sunroof
  • Parking sensors

and mods on the car include
  • H&r springs, front & rear anti roll bars
  • WALK kit
  • Herts amp
  • Front speakers upgrade
  • New south boost gauge
  • Open fog surrounds
  • APR Carbonio intake with pipercross panel filter
  • Possibly had a remap but not sure so need a trip to r-tech

After about a week of owning it i said to myself i just wanted to get it cleaned up and not do too much but then i started to browse the forum and you know where it goes from there

Here was my first wax session on the car with my mates from work,

Also added pressed plates as i love how clean they look
[/list]
And cleaned the bay too

Then some goodies came through the post

The most exciting part being the 12mm eibach wheel spacers, i only fitted the rears to start with as i wasnt sure wether i wanted them on the front aswel

And then finally for now i received my xenon headlights & 6k HID kit through the post so i quickly got these fitted,

As she stands now after another wax

Cheers Mitch! I got them from here m.carpartstuning.com/ they are from europe though just so you know & the sidelight location is in the main housing not in the strip below like the depo's but didn't bother me too much, they are spot on for the price tho and all black inners which I wanted too! And these where the hid's www.just-performance.co.uk/55w-pro-canbus-h7-single-beam-slim-hid-conversion-kit perfect white light :) hope that helps!

Small update, gave the car a service the other day as it was due one, used the millers nano drive oil as everyone on here was raving about it!
Also fitted a new rear edition 30 badge thanks to mandy on here as mine had seen better days
And picked this up for an absolute steal and was literally walking distance from my work too

Not updated for a while so quick update after a few purchases!
Firstly bought and fitted my cam coat Revo intake to the car, definitely feels better top end and the noise is addictive, I got a heat shield from garage midnight too just to try and help keep the intake temps down a little more

Then bought a full BCS decat exhaust system off a forum member on here only been used for 5k miles, very impressed with the quality of the exhaust just need to get it fitted now :)

After fitting everything I'll be off for a stage 2 remap at r-tech maybe stage 2+ if I can get myself a hpfp so thought I best get myself some better brakes up front, found these with adaptors on eBay, after a cheeky offer managed to bag them for £280 just need to get new seals and some fresh paint on them :) question is yellow or red!?

And just because I can here's a pic at home after giving the car a quick clean :)

Love the colour.

I recently put a Powervalve on my GTI and its awesome!! Best mod i've done (other than the map!!)

How are the spacers working out? I fancy doing that myself.

Ohh nice, did you go decat mate? I can't wait to hear it in person everyone says how good they sound! Bet you end up using a tank of fuel after fitting don't you? Haha

Wheel spacers are spot on, 12mm is perfect imo it just sets the back off and gives the car a wider stance especially on h&r springs which I noticed you have on your gti! I'm going to put my other 12mm spacers on the front when I fit the brakes so will all be matching!

Looking mean and some nice buys. I recently bought a Revo intake (non camcoat), do you have a link to the heat shield? Thanks,

Really nice looking Ed. 30!

Mods of really good quality. :happy2:

PS: Just to let you know that your front splitter is not the factory part. It's the Votex splitter. Check this topic for example: http://www.golfmkv.com/forums/showthread.php?t=60096.
