Ed30 Revo stage2 > stage2+

Been stage 2 on my edition 30 now for best part of 4 years and for the last 6 months I've just not been able to stop thinking of going stage 2+! 
Car runs spot on but can't help think I'd fancy abit more out of it!
Last ran 330/340 at statllers so not sure if it's worth it for a slight increase top end and a chunk in the mid range.

Cars got revo intake, tbe vwr miltek and sports cat, airtec Intercooler, Rev g valve and uprated clutch so I'm good to go with just a pump upgrade...

Anyone else done the same? Not sure if I'm talking myself in or out of it

Depends what the software update costs you. I doubt you'd feel a hell of a difference to be honest.

I'm in a similar position with my Stage 2 k03 car. I'm just going to fit a Loba pump and stay on the same map.

I'm getting fuel cuts and limp mode at the minute, the standard pump can't keep up, hence the Loba. But I'm not too arsed about the 2+ map. It'll just be asking more and more of the hardware for not much in return.

 I'd argue that if your car is running well at Stage 2 with the current hardware, there's a case for leaving it alone!

If funds allow go straight to stage3 or 3+ it's an absolute blast, super car performance, will have to upgrade Pistons, conrods, turbo, and a few other parts to, but well worth it :happy2:and if your budget can stretch further AWD, finally after two months I pick mine up Wednesday, can't fekin wait, rain or shine now, I will be at GTI international show next weekend baring any more problems, nothing to do with garage may I hasten to add, just waiting on parts was the problem from APR, more than welcome to have a test drive, but I promise it will affect your wallet if you do.

Get that pump on Dan. May only be an extra 10% bhp and ft lb but that 10% is where the fun bit is.

Well I reckon it would be £50 for the software upgrade with Revo, 250-300 for the pump, cam follower at £40, fitting labour through statllers and dyno time could push it to £500 all in for the switch?

Would it be worth it? I might email them for a proper quote but still would the money>power be worth it?

Yeah get it done then. It cost me a fair bit more than that to go from 1 to 2 with R-Tech which is why I'm personally reluctant to pay out again for the tweak from 2 to 2+. I'm only really fitting the Loba to stop the fuel cuts.

But for 50 notes it'll be worth it for you. You've got a good spec so there should be a healthy dollop of torque to be had. Plus you'll get a chance to have a nosey at all the other lovely stuff Steve's working on!

You might struggle to pick up a pump for that price though. I'm not sure what the consensus is these days on Autotech internals (the cheapest option), but I've read enough to put me off. Which leaves full replacements from Loba or APR. Loba is 500+ new and APR is maybe even more. I got lucky and found a 4 month old Loba for 390.

Yeah well that's it, mostly looking at autotech for that price, lobas do fetch that 400 mark so would push the conversion up abit.

I just know how naughty these things get with 2+ on them, but I know how I can struggle for grip now at stage 2 sometimes!

But then there's a local Porsche turbo I'd like to upset abit more

Maybe see what Steve says about Autotech. I trust his knowledge.

Yeah, grip is an issue. It's a bit of a farce on damp roads. An anti lift kit might help a bit if you haven't done it already.

I suppose another way of looking at it is that with the fuelling sorted you'll be fully equipped for a TTE420 or similar should you decide to go down that road in the future....

Don't get me wrong I love the idea of a tte420 but my edition would never go past 2+, 4wd would defo be needed for that I think! I think Eddie off here is heading down that route.

I'll have to send Steve an email and ask my options. Always a pain cause my cars too low for his dyno

I'd love an S3 or mk6 R, just for the grip. Really is a pain in the arse getting the power down sometimes, even in a k03 car.

I went out in Hurdy's old mk6 and it was impressive just how composed it was even with 500+. Oh, and that was with standard internals. CDL + 4wd = proper.

Yep, he's one of the good guys. Proper Yorkshire bloke, no bulls*t, and really, really knows his stuff. Very handy being half an hour away.
