Intermittent cruise control
« on: July 25, 2016, 03:02:27 pm »
Afternoon all!

Have a bit of a weird one.... My cruise control green light on the dash every now and then disappears, meaning I lose cruise control!

Normally a quick turn off then on, of the ignition and the light comes back on, although not all the time and sometimes it takes a few attempts!
I've been trying to figure out if something is triggering it and it seems to possibly be linked to when I operate the indicators! especially the right hand one!!

What's going on here?? And any suggestions as to how to cure the problem?

TIA

Could be a dodgy stalk.

Check with VCDS.

I had the same problem took stalk apart and it was a broken wire which I repaired and no more issues. The wire was over works I work-related it used some extra heatsink to stop it rubbing through

Sadly I had to and remove the stalk for the repair but wasn't to bad as far as I remember it was a red wire but was obvisiously broken when able to get access

Hold the button on the stalk down and it should set. you can also go up with speed and down when pressing the up down buttons. mine works but when I press the brakes it goes into normal mode BUT on the odd occasion it will automatically go back to the set speed randomly  :signLOL:
