Custom Tune TSI Engine

APR are some of the strongest power figures in the game, if you don't want them, fine, but that's probably where I would go. Considering they also make the k04 kit it would make sense to use their software.
I could do you a "custom map" but doesn't mean it would be any good.

Ahh how much :D
I have a few options now -
APR but means paying more...but if the maps are a decent as you state then i'll be getting my monies worth..
Or
Go to another tuner I've been speaking to who is well respected in the tuning industry but that would mean leaving my car there for about a week which isn't too bad...
Heads or tails lol
AJP:
If you want custom and R-Tech are out of the picture, speak to Unicorn or Shark.
But, I think I'd personally sway towards APR like Jay says. Yes it's 'generic' but if you were to contact APR and ask them for a comprehensive list of hardware that would best compliment their map, your end result would be as safe and effective as a custom map with hardware xyz. Tweak the hardware to the map, rather than the map to the hardware.
Unless you've already got the usual 2+ parts fitted and APR say those particular parts won't work with their map, I can't see you going too far wrong.

Pretty sure most powerful K03 GTI was APR software.
Most custom tunes take at least a week.
Darkside had my car for 2 weeks in total.
Bobby has had it for another hmm 3-4 weeks in total as well.
Depends who the tuner is . Rick at Unicorn seems to be doing some pretty good stuff. Also Performance Torque.

Thanks for the input.
I'm running 3 inch exhaust, full intake, FMIC, i'll be fitting this weekend, and finish wiring up my meth kit. I have the k04 throttle body pipe and outlet pipe but of course I don't think it will fit the stock turbo so will wait until I get the k04 fitted. I'm going stock to k04 basically with all the trimmings. Think I will give unicorn a shout and see what they say
