Golf r wheel spin on launch
« on: July 24, 2016, 02:14:42 pm »
My mates mk6 r r-tech stage 2+ on launch control spins all the wheels for what feels far to long before it grips, does this when at a stand still and you hammer it. Is this normal? I would of thought with the haldex it wouldn't spin at all and even if it did maybes for a split second before it grips and throws you up the road.

Tyres are all good to, mich ps3

What tyres is he using? My APR Stage 2+ R doesn't spin at all with Michelin Pilot 2 tyres.

Michelin ps3 all round with around 3-4mm thread. Yeah it just doesn't feel right and people say they rarely get spin even in the wet

VCDS scan comes up all good? Must be something to do with the haldex but saying that I got a very small amount of wheelspin on my old Talladegas with continental tyres. All good with 19" team Dynamic pro 1.3 and Michelin tyres. Sorry I can't help you.

Bushes and alignment?

If the geometry is out that's logical, but I mention bushes too as once things are under load the static geometry skews. So even if the geo is good, worn bushes won't keep things in check.

Obvious culprit would be front wishbone rear bush.

Wheelspin at launch is normal, foot to the floor from a rolling start it should dig in & grip (unless it's very wet) give that a try  :happy2:

There's a known issue with the Haldex pump on the 6R's could be that. I don't believe it throws up any codes
