I wish this thread would include talk about installing Pioneer AVIC-F70DAB to Golf GTI mk5 (and to edition 30 if it is any different).
This head unit seems to be really great, if you look specs. One down from top model, I think.
I removed all original audio (mfd2, Cd-changer, amp, hands-free kit and speakers) to reach all new goodies.
I got 5 channel amp and passive 3-way front component set with 10" sealed sub-woofer in trunk. I wont use original rear speakers at all. Should be simple and good in "2.1" setup.
Amp: Audison SR5 (2 x 140W + 1 x 260W)
3-way front: Rainbow Sound Line SL-C6.3 (4ohm)
Sub: JL-Audio CS110LG-TW3 (2ohm)
RCA: Audison Connection BT6550 6-channel RCA 5,5m
Speaker cables: 4connect 2,5mm2
Power cables: AIV 50mm2
Head unit swap was easy with "Connects2 CTSVW002.2 CAN-Bus steering control adapter" and "Connects2 Pioneer Stalk Lead / patch lead cable" (steering wheel buttons seems to work normally).
Most cables (connectors) are plug and play, but few needs to be explained better:
System Remote Control (BLUE or BLUE/white) - this will go to new amp (remote start when HU starts) and for FM/AM radio amp
Parking Brake (GREEN) - Connect to CTSWV002.2 (GREEN)
Reverse Gear Signal Input (PURPLE/white) - Connect to CTSWV002.2 (PURPLE/white)
Car Speed Signal Input (PINK) - Connect to CTSWV002.2 (PINK)
Phone Mute (YELLOW or YELLOW/black) - How to connect? Can this be connected to steering wheel phone button?
I needed also a patch cable for GPS to use original shark fin (GPS Antenna Adapter Pioneer Radio FAKRA - AVIC-F for AUDI VW SKODA SEAT /WM-0095) and another adapter for dual radio (Dual Twin FAKRA to DIN AM/FM Car Stereo Radio Amplified Aerial Adapter /MA556).
2 din installation kit (fascia) "Connects2 CT24VW09" was not the easiest to install for a first timer. Head unit is maybe a few millimeters too much inside to be perfect. When you install this, take your time to get a perfect result.
Next:
VCDS coding to remove Sound System, Navigation, Radio (analog) and Telephone.
Original coding:
7D 3F 07 CA 07 00 00 02
[47] Sound System
[37] Navigation
[56] Radio (analog)
[77] Telephone
How to remove those correctly, not to get any DTCs?
=== tests:
No matter what, always at least one DTC. Usually also "CAN 01044"; incorrectly coded.
If I leave (removed) radio and telephone, then I get only one DTC: "56-Radio – status: Malfunction 0010".
How this is done? Anyone?
