Newbie in High Wycombe - New owner
« on: August 02, 2016, 10:32:56 am »
Hi All,

I have just bought a 2008 Golf GTI DSG, very excited!  Drives really nicely, good service history and low mileage (45K).  Overall I'm really happy, but there are a few things to sort out and enhance.

I traded in my crappy Peugeot 107 for this, so the performance increase is notable!  Before the 107 I've had a '04 Jag XKR, 2.0 TFSI Audi A3 and a Mk1 1.8T Audi TT, so the speed isn't completely unkown to me - but this thing really does shift!

Anyway, I'm sure I'll have some dumb questions, probabaly starting with streaming audio over bluetooth, so apologies in advance!

Mike

Nope, you'll have to create a photobucket account and link from there.

Congrats on your new purchase Mike.

I've had my Mk5 GTI a year now and still loving it. I'm only just down the M40 near watlington - glad to hear there are other GTI'ers not far away

Hi Mike. Car looks good. Nice spec too. She's so much quicker then other cars with this DSG. Might see you about, I go burnham sometimes to stretch the old girl out.

Far from standard, your optional extras as follows:
Xenon lights
Headlight washers
Leather
DSG
Multifunction steering wheel
RNS510(Possibly, can't really see head unit in the photos)
Highline clocks
Dualzone climate control
Top vent

Ha, yes all very true. Not that standard then! I guess I meant it hadn't been modified after manufacturing.

It is a nice car, I'm enjoying being in a proper car after a year in the 107!

It is the RNS510. The car has Bluetooth fitted, but I'm discovering it is an old module that doesn't support streaming, so may update the module. Seems to be a lot of conflicting info out there so need to do some more digging.
