MDI software update help
« on: August 06, 2016, 12:33:22 pm »
Hi
So after many failed attempts to update my MDI software I've decided to ask for HELP!!

I need the update for 2 reasons.
1. the MDI won't recognise my iPhone 6s using either a USB or Lighting adaptor.
2. the sound quality using an iPhone 4s via the MDI 30 pin adaptor is terrible

Any one out there able to help?

I have an RNS510 if that makes any difference ...

I didn't think this existed until I saw this and a quick Google suggested otherwise!

I was getting really bad sound too from my RNS and 30 pin connector until I stumbled across this thread and made the tweaks via VCDS and it made a significant improvement:

Thanks, but as far as i'm aware i don't have a factory installed amplifier.

General opinions are that an MDI software update will improve the sound quality.
I believe I also require an MDI software update to operate the iPhone 6s.

I remember reading years ago that you had to install each update in order but not sure how true that was. Also some newer firmware will not install on older hardware.
