Roof Rack noise
« on: August 25, 2016, 05:53:39 pm »
Hi all, Ive just installed some thule wing bars on my 5 door with 3 thule 591 cycle carriers. The noise they are generating is seriously loud! anyone having or had the same issue? its not a whistle as I've had with other cars, but a really loud wind sound.

Thanks!

Stupid question perhaps, but have you got them on the right way round?

haha! i had a moment when i thought they were the wrong way round yes! I've actually tried them both ways round to rule that out and still the excessive noise. i have them as shown on thule videos etc with the wider part of the wing at the front.

The bike racks are alternated, so two facing forwards and the third one facing the rear..... I've tried taping up the underneath of the (Thule 591) bike racks to stop the air bouncing around underneath the main body part and still the noise persists...............
