OBD2 Bluetooth Scanner Tool
« on: August 19, 2016, 11:03:41 am »
Hi

Did any of you guys try and use Vgate Scanner in your GTI?

I just got one of ebay. Got it connected wih my phone and using it with Torque Lite App.

Just need to know how accurate this thing is. Did quick run to see my boost level and it was only going up to 9PSI?

Thanks

The boost sound about right for a standard map. 9-12psi depend on if you floor it or not.

they are good at getting the error code if there is any but as far thats about it.
Id use it as a temp solution if your on the road when something hapeens

My understanding was that boost should be closer to 12PSI, thought I have boost leak or something... I am wrong I guess

Is it possible to log and save the logs on this?

Thanks anyway!

Mine is standard and it boosts to about 11psi so could be a boost leak somewhere.

Im not sure about logs on the handheld scanners. Ive got the torque app which can do logs to an extent.

To log everything youd be better off with Vag Com

Changing DV was on my to do list anyways :)
Car is still pulling strong, but there is a whistle sound low down the revs (1800 - 2500) when the turbo start to spool. Could this indicate there is a leak from DV? Or is it just the spool sound?
