Thanks prp.

They are Anthracite colour. Recently redone so are in immaculate condition.

I'd really love some 18' Silver ones of the same type. I reckon the silver with the black car would look amazing!

Personally I think these look better then the silver ones. I have a graphite blue GTi, and was thinking about having the alloys refurbed. If you ever decide to sell let me know  :happy2:

Had a spare few hours today and have the coming week off so got started with the GTI.

Full service done! Oil, air, pollen and fuel filter along with spark plugs and fresh oil. Starts better for certain so the spark plugs have made a difference.

Just gotta work out how to do the Cam Follower and we will be laughing.

Also have started with a deep clean. Snowfoam, iron out on the wheels, 2 bucket washed with sheepskin mit, dried and filled out with Nattys Black Hole. Plan for tomorrow is wheels, windows and 2 coats of wax.
Few photos of how it's looking currently.

Paintwork is fantastic!

You should either replace (because they're so cheap) or restore your fog light and lower bumper grills. They're starting to go a dull grey!

C4 trim restorer will sort that out. No a cheap product buty worth every penny.  Theres a half and half photo on my build thread from when i did my front grill.

So go the car finished today. Took me around 8 hours all in all but very happy with the outcome.

Few bits done to the car today. Thanks to a couple of forum members for fooor mats and a boot pop kit.

Fitted both today and the boot pop is just brilliant, and the mats finish the car off lovely. Huge thanks to both.

Also had a new windscreen fitted by Autoglass. £75 well spent as it was covered in scratches from the previous owner. Much better now.

Looks awesome! Definitely makes me want to switch up to the Natty's Black Hole!

Also I've got a lotta love for the cream interior (got it myself!)

Not a huge amount to report apart from some more service items.
Had the thermostat replaced along with the Cam Follower fitted today as it wasn't getting up to temp. Might be placebo effect but car definitely feels better for it!

Also got some new fog grilles where you can see straight through for the most part. I've passed my old ones onto a mate and he's going to have a go at making the whole lot completely honeycomb!

Loving the car more than ever right now.

Remap and clutch will be saved for early next year once I can afford the whole lot

Good times buddy :happy2:

The 8hr cleaning session was worth every minute! Car is looking mint!!

I'd love a new windscreen. Mine's all scratched too. But I'm worried the Autoglass guys will make a balls of the job. How did you get on with the guys who did yours?

I have a new thermostat sitting in the garage but I'm too lazy to fit it. It looks to be a pig of a job :sick

If you don't mind me asking; how many hrs labour did your garage charge your for fitting the new stat?

Cheers Man.

Couldn't fault the Autoglass guy. Called me when he was 10 mins away and within an hour he was gone. Has been faultless and the service was second to none.

To have the thermostat supplied and fitted along with the Cam Follower fitted it cost me £242. Think labour was around the £150-£170 marker but VW quoted £325 so happy with that.

Took the car to the Peak District today! Some of those roads are just brilliant. The weather was pretty good too so got some photos.

Waiting to see what dolla bills ive got left when my bills have all gone out and then i might go for a set of Lowering Springs. Just looking for 15/20mm lower, nothing more. Any recommendations?

Ive also got hold of some new cut out fog light grilles and they look much better. Ive given my old ones to a mate to see if he can completely cut them out for me. Shall see how this goes.

Let me know what you think to the photos  :happy2:
