Valuation query.
« on: July 19, 2016, 01:41:06 pm »
Sorry folks, yet another valuation required. 2005 Tornado Red Gti currently running 120K but had a new BYD KO4 put in 15K ago by Alex at AKS.  FSH by VW on the old AXX prior to removal but Alex has looked after it ever since the new engine install.  Car has loads of mods but ideally I'd get rid as is.  Absolutely no idea of what its worth.  Few details below from my build thread.  I've had it for 5 1/2 years since just under 50K on the clock.

The current BYD installed was a brand new test engine (I'm in the automotive test industry),  absolutely mint upon install.  Inlet valves were spotless with none of the oily carbon build up when installed.

Currently running around 350hp and used daily.

Has some bonnet stone chips and age related marks but rust free.

Anyone ??  Realise its going to struggle against Ed30 prices, thinking somewhere in between Eddie prices and gti prices ?.  The new engine really does set this apart though for a car this age.

No idea mate, hence the post.  Engine done around 15K now as has the Wavetrack LSD.  Doesn't miss a beat.  :happy2:

Would like a quick sale without advertising for months on end.  Will be a great car for someone, always puts a smile on my face as people think its just a plain old Gti.  :driver:

I'm looking for 1 but I was ideally wanting standard and will be used daily as it will be the family car. I have a Touran but don't need the room now and I also want to try a gti, I've read you can get 3 kids / adults in the back so the gti sounds like a win. Yours looks very nice for the age and the spec looks scary !!

Insurance is £350 with A.flux.  I am an old fart though .  Perfect family car mate, my kids love it and want me to get an R.

Hopefully someone might have an idea as to the rough value.

Can you easily fit 3 kids in the rear?
My budget unfortunately 6k but good luck with the sale hopefully goes to a good owner

Nobody fancy a punt at a ballpark price ?  The prices second hand seem so varied, not entirely sure where to sit it without putting people off or losing out more than I have to.
