Brake shields on a Big Brake Kit
« on: August 09, 2016, 11:56:55 am »
Do people running 4pot/6pot BBKs such as the Brembo 18z kit run them without splash/dust shields? Have people used shields from another VAG car that already has big brakes and modify them to fit? I'll be running 350mm disks soon and wonder if I should look at ordering something up, as I now have everything else needed for the mod.

Cheers, Stu.

Take them off.... weight saving.

I dont run them, pretty much no one with a proper BBK will sill have them.

You can run the OEM dust shields. Not sure if they need any tweaking but I doubt it.

Remove them.
I'll second that. Never known a car get so much grit stuck in them. Pointless.

Thanks for the R8 coils by the way. Got them in today, all sorted.
