RE: Air con/blower/heater problem

Hi guys and girls..

Hoping you can help me. Having murder with the air con/climate control situation in my car.. 2006 Golf Gti..

Have a weird problem in the fact, if I put the air con on, it'll blow out cold air, in what direction I want it to for about 1-2mins. Then the air flow will fade, all the while behind the glovebox/stereo (left) the sound of the air being blown full force builds up. This happens to the point where there is no air being blown out of the vents and loads of air being blown in the dash. When you turn it off, its like the pressure is released, and i get about 10 seconds of cold air through the vents what ever the setting it was at.

The air con works, in the fact I replaced the pressure sensor and had it regassed, and the air comes through cold when it actually comes through properly.

I took it to VW, they want to remove the whole dash.. and want £280 for that, regardless if they find anything, and any extra work on top of that is extra cashmoney..

Any suggestions? I'm gonna take the glovebox out and try the air con process to see if anything I can see if anything is blocked I guess.. Try to determine where the sound is coming from..

Anybody had anything similar?!  Please help me...  before I just set the bloody thing on fire..

Cheers,

Mike
