Cars going into the garage soon for some routine maintenance. Am wanting to get the timing chain and tensioner done as I’ve got a case of the “diesel rattles” when warm and idling.
I’ve been in touch with a local VAG specialist to quote for labour time only; as I had already bought some other bits and bobs which need fitting I thought I may as well get the lot.
I had thought I had everything covered off as a result of looking at some guides on this forum, but the mechanic on the phone asks me to ensure I also source the “half-moon camshaft seals” and “spark plug gaskets” as these parts can weep slightly as a result of being tampered with and it’s just worth replacing them as part of the job.
Google hasn’t turned anything up – anyone able to point me at some part numbers for these?
