xenon self leveling
« on: September 02, 2016, 03:06:27 pm »
Hi guys,

I've recently installed a set of coilovers. My xenons are pointing downwards now. I'm certain my sensors are fine as they seem to be intact and don't appear to be damaged.

Does anybody have an idea as to how I can reset the height of these?

Thanks again,
Faz

They shouldn't be down in theory as you dropped the whole car I'm guessing and not just the front.

Have you tried the dial thingy in the cockpit near the headlight switch?

Being Xenon's you don't have the adjusting wheel, the problem you have is the car thinks it's loaded so it will adjust to compensate for the drop in height. From what I have read you cannot "reset" the beam angle and it the fact that the car is lower than standard spec.

plenty of info on Vortex forum about this issue..

The rear leveling sensor could have been pushed so now it bends to the wrong side. Try bending it to the other side. It happened to my GT Sport when I had new shocks fitted.

yeah, Shoduchi is right, I think they point to the wheel, when they should point towards the car?

You have vcds? http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/VW_Golf_(1K)_Headlight_Aim_Control_(Xenon)

Mine were off when I lowered mine and this fixed it. I've also heard that a dealer shop adjusted someone's quickly at no fee.
