Seat Foam Groaning
« on: September 02, 2016, 10:06:28 pm »
Just when I thought I had rattle free Mk 5 GTI, I got in yesterday (car only used once a week), to find that the seat was creaking / groaning at me. After a bit of 'narrowing down', it seems that it is the foam inside the seat groaning a bit - i can replicate the noise by moving the seat bolsters / back upright foam a bit from outside the car. Not massive, but annoying me already - like when you are at junctions, moving very slightly in the seat. Seats are heated (obviously not on.....yet) - and the tartan check fabric  type - not leather

Any thoughts, anyone??  Flippin annoying....

It's possibly rubbing off something like the arm rest?

Mine are leather and I eliminated it by applying leather care cream, leaves them softer so they don't stick!

In your case, adjust the seat in several positions or turn up the radio  :signLOL:

Those noises are a pain though in all fairness, I got one yesterday so I just closed the window and tried to block it out!
