Potential Milltek Turbo Back Exhaust Installation Issue
« on: January 21, 2010, 09:23:37 am »
Photos from the recent Milltek turbo back exhaust installation.

Not entirely confident the way the sport cat is sitting near the subframe support.  Has anyone, got similar photos that they can post to compare and contrast with the ones here?

Don't like the way the exhaust is resting on the support bracket attached to the subframe.
Looks flimsy!!

There also seems like an awfully large gap between the heat shield and the underneath of the car.  The stock exhaust sat a lot closer to the floor of the car.

A closer shot of the flimsy bit...IIRC RedRobin had to replace his.  Does my one look like its on the way out?

Thanks in advance.

This is mine - is it different to yours?

if u think it sitting too low go stick your head under the car while its on the ground and see how it sits. i only said it looked wrong as it looked to sit low to me and by cutting the cat off and turning it a little the exhaust would sit better

Unfortunately I don't have any underside pics of my Milltek in that area, but it does look somewhat unsupported in your pics.

Who installed it?

Thanks for posting the photos.  :happy2:

Difficult to tell really - but your exhaust seems to be a lot closer to the floor of the car. Better fit in my opinion.

I'll wait and see some more photos.  Should be interesting...

Who installed it?

TTS Roadsport - I've asked them to raise the issue with Milltek as they did the installation.

They have said that they have seen "variations" in the past supposedly for the same bit of kit which may account for the less than perfect fitting.

Let's see what Milltek and TTS comeback with...

^^^^
Looks like your Blueflame is rigidly fixed rather than suspended in rubber hangers which allow for heat expansion etc, Mat  :surprised:

Thanks Matt..

Just to go off on a bit of a tangent.  Are those eibach ARBS - and are they on the aggressive setting?

I've got mine set to the soft setting front and rear.

Is there a noticeable difference between the two settings - what's the recommended setup?

P.S.  I really should be working!!!
