GTi Edition 30
« on: January 21, 2010, 01:10:29 pm »
Hi all new member, so thought i would say hello.

Picked up an edition 30 and love it. Apart from a whirring noise when cold, having read a few other posts seems to be a cam belt problem. Anyone able to shed any further light on this?

Cheers

Hi, funnily enough, mine does the same.  Thought it was more likely to be the aux drive belts rather than cam belt.

A few have had belts and tensioners replaced. I'd get it in to the dealer  :happy2:

Anyone got the bluefin upgrade on their ed30?

I have been toying with the idea but share the car with the missus and she is none too keen lol.

Yes a few of us have Bluefin and I for one have been very impressed and have seen some really good numbers on the dyno and love the way the car performs on the road and track.  :happy2:

Do you necessarily require any other mods if you are going for the initial upgrade. I read that the upgrade allows you to change what settings you want between standard and tuned depending on what road/weather conditions you have. Sounds like a quality bit of kit.

Nope you can bang it on the standard car but you would feel more benefit with an exhaust.  :happy2:

I had Bluefin on my 08 plate Edition 30 until I sold the car a few months ago.  I absolutely loved it !   Works really well and just gives more of the same style of delivery.

I miss my Edition 30 and would have it back tomorrow .... You will not regret getting the car mapped - and Bluefin is a simple and good way to do it.  An Edition 30 is crying out for a remap

FWIW one of the maps I had from Superchips for my Bluefin device was their 'original' DSG map which was docile to 4K revs but relly got going after that.  I had a more aggressive map but preferred their original one as the wife never went over 4K and didn't really feel intimidated by it.  She noticed their more aggressive map though
