MK5 Radio Upgrade

hi all,

im completely new to VW's coming from a whole host of Fords previously. I have just bought a 2006 GTI and i'm looking to change a few things on it. But my main one is the radio, I've had DAB in my last 2 cars and i miss it quite alot so i'm looking to change the headunit. I've seen the VW RCD510 that has DAB on it, what else is needed to make it work in the car? I presume it's not just a plug and play system?

so i need a new aerial, headunit and then a gateway upgrade? headunit i can probably fit think the rest is beyond my capabilities with electrics!

which aerial should I get sorry? managed to source a rcd510 from pashka on this forum so I just need the aerial/antenna and then I should have the full kit

have a look "dabonwheels"  Your gateway will be ok if its suffix K or later  If you need a new one they can be bought precoded ready to install from "Eddie-NL" on here

my reception is rubbish radio 1, 2 KISS FM , CAPITAL EXTRA but not much else! might do some research on this :) thanks.
