Wheel bearings
« on: October 01, 2016, 08:53:41 am »
Hey guys

I'm a month in to my first mk5 ownership and I am loving it! The cam follower replacement was a bit of a mare (banjo!) but was pretty fun at the time. I definitely should have bought the 1/4 ratchet set!

So this is a complete newbie question. Do you go for OEM or after market wheel bearings?

Where do you get parts from? I feel nervous going into my local vw dealer in case they see through me and realise I'm a newb and laugh at me.

Cheers!
Tim

I wouldn't be worried about going aftermarket. Euro car parts of a 30% sale this weekend 'sale30' promo code on the website.  :happy2:

I replaced my two rear hub bearing assy.'s with aftermarket hubs. I ordered SKF from a site but FAG was sent. Both make oem equipment for VW so you are getting aftermarket bits regardless.
