Battery drain after fitting handsfree kit..

I'm sure there is something about the swapping of the wires in the instructions

I bought this parrot kit off of a friend, who also bought it second hand, it doesn't have instructions unfortunately.

Does my last post tie in with what you were saying about the two colours, ie they are part of the parrot kit?

Going from memory there should be red and orange power cables.

On the Parrot loom it should have a fuse for both cables so easiest way is to change over the fuse holder caps as they are on the supply side and hopefully this should solve the issue.

Thanks folks. Yeh the parrot loom has the fused red and orange, so I'll whip out the stereo again and swap them over.  Strangely, the car has started fine the last two mornings, although I'm putting this down to it not having quite enough time to drain the battery enough so that it doesn't start.  The run in to work is about 30 mins so that gives it a good charge too.

I shall report back after I've swapped the red and orange.  May help others in the future.

Whipped the stereo out again today and changed over the parrot red and orange fused wires...

Noticed straight away that the parrot head unit bit said disconnected and goodbye when I turned the ignition off.  So hopefully this will have sorted the battery drain!

Bugger... Still got battery drain!  Hmm, where to look now???? Will it have something to do with the cambus?

Pull the loom out.... test to see if you still have drain. Could it be a faulty parrot unit?

Yeh, think that's what I'll do.  I suppose with a couple of battery drains it could have buggered the battery itself.

Back to square one, and then go from there..

Didn't realise i hadn't updated this thread!

Since fitting a new battery, the battery drain has gone. i think what had happened was the initial drain on the battery when the handsfree was plugged in the wrong, on the rd and orange ignition wires, must have tipped the old battery over the edge and it was never going to recover properly. So a change on the orange and red wires coupled with the new battery and everything has been fine for weeks now!!
