Brake sensor

Hopefully a quick and easy question...where is the brake sensor located (assuming there is one)?

Is it in the pads, or is there a separate bit?

Its built into the pad.  IIRC its only on one side of the front ...

as above, located on the passenger side front brake.  Built into one of the pads.

I guess you lose the sensor functionality with after market brake kits then?

Unless, you can get Ferodo DS2500 pads with them in?

you could always buy something like a porsche sensor, and splice it into the VW wiring, and drill a hole into the pads.  if you drill close to the pad backing plate, and glue the sensor in all should be well.

....Regular visual inspection is my preferred method too.

I currently run Ferodo DS2500 pads but wasn't aware of any sensors in/on them.
