Other VAG vehicle electrics
« on: January 19, 2010, 06:25:57 am »
My car has gone for some body repairs due to some kind lady re-designing the front end...!  any way I've got a Seat altea XL has an hire car,  its quite nice with all the top spec.

What ive noticed on the steering wheel is that the MFSW has 8 buttons?? on the right is the volume up and down and station up and down,  on the left is the station preset up and down then the star mute and then the interesting one is the source button which changes between radio aux and cd???? how can SEAT have this feature but VW cant get off there geeky skinny hides and sort this.

The RNS510 has loads of features and could do with a source button on the steering wheel.

I thought the VW MFSW had eight buttons too?!?!?

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

You're right Drren, that's stupid! I would rather have the features on those SEAT buttons than on my VW wheel. I can't believe how poor the mk5 multi-function is. The only controls that are worth a damn are the volume buttons. Even my old E46 BMW had volume, track up/down, phone and cruise control on the wheel and it was desgined in the dark ages!

Why the controls for the computer are on the wheel is beyond me. I would much rather have them on the right stalk as per my old S3 and have track up/down and source buttons on the steering wheel.
