I have a discrete 'wedge' one in both my cars, the UK's largest crash for cash scam was around here so I got it to cover my backside.
Used to have Edition 30 - number 009 and a GT TDI 140.
Now have an S4 B8 Avant (stage 2)

I have one. Defo worth it if someone brake checks you on purpose as could go in your favour.

And only get one if all mods are declaired on your car as it would be pointless otherwise.

Can be really good, but as others have already said they can be a double edged sword..ie used against you too!

Also beware speed recording functions on standard satnavs.
Our boss wasn't best pleased to find max recorded speed of 127 on firms pool car.
Not me driving, colleague was I'd from times recorded, and for the first offence sent on a speed awareness course...with a verbal warning from his employer.

I see all sorts of idiots on the road in London which is why I don't get one as I'll be at the police station everyday  :signLOL:

Lol - London has some idiot drivers around, especially Harrow

Been looking at them on the halfords website. The nextbase have some good reviews.
It's a shame as  these guys weave in and out of heavy traffic and me personally I feel way too embarrassed to even try that kind of driving or maybe I've just got to an age where I think patient is a virtue  :signLOL:

There's asshole drivers everywhere. Yesterday i got cut up in traffic by a van racing a bmw e46. Punk bitch nearly wiped me and my family out. I was sitting in first lane on the a406 driving at the limit. Wish i had my dashcam on!!

I dislike van drivers as they're dirty ass road ragers as I had one idiot forcing his way up the Passats rear end Friday and I just took the piss more and when 50 in the 50 and 30 in he 30 so he decided to under cut traffic to go no where fast  :signLOL:

Blackvue DR-650 front and rear in both cars.

Helped catch a hit and run - driver of the A4 in this clip (as well as the police) were most appreciative of the footage:

I can't have one especially on my bikes for fear of the footage being used against me  :scared: I've never had any accidents or convictions, but certainly on the bike I'm not wanting the old bill to have seen what I'm up to. I'm not up for doing their job for them

+1 for BlackVue. A little more expensive but great quality and features such as parking mode and dual cameras.

Police cant just confiscate it.

They can request for it if there is the chance that it provides evidence of a serious offence. even then you can still decline.

this is copied and pasted.
Under the Police and Criminal Evidence Act (PACE) of 1984, under section 19 subclause 3, "The constable may seize anything which is on the premises if he has reasonable grounds for believing that it is evidence in relation to an offence which he is investigating, and that it is necessary to seize it in order to prevent the evidence being concealed, lost, altered or destroyed." It is worth pointing out that "premises" in this context refers to "any place", as per PACE s23.

In addition, constables have the power to use 'reasonable  and necessary force', under section 117 of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act: "Where any provision of this Act confers a power on a constable (...) the officer may use reasonable force, if necessary, in the exercise of the power". In practice, that means that a police officer can use force to take the camera from you. If they would have to do that, they would probably also arrest you for Assaulting or Obstructing a Constable in the Execution of His Duty (section 51 of the Police Act 1964), or perverting the course of justice.

WTF, get arrested for not wanting to hand over your camera, even if your not involved in the incident. wow

Think I may just get one for trackdays usage then.

thanks for the heads up

yeah mate pigs have the power to assault you and get away with it too so be careful and make sure you have your phone recording them at all times which they cannot seize off you for keeping evidence of you being stopped.

It's simple..if you ever get stopped for any reason, just pop the card out for piece of mind. Only takes 1 second.
