Stage 1 with a decat full time
« on: October 06, 2016, 10:29:26 pm »
Hi guys,

I'm at stage 1 and happy with it. Not looking to go stage 2 yet. I want to give the car a bit of sound so thinking about de catting my car.

Questions are:
1. Will a de cat on stage 1 car cause any problems other than the CEL light coming on?
2. Will it free up some BHP?
3. Will it increase in fuel consumption?
4. Do I need a de cat downpipe or a de cat only pipe? Would a ebay one be ok, any recommendations?

sorry for the barrage of questions  :happy2:

Why not a 100 or 200 cell cat? At least then you would be legal and no eml.

Short supply of the benjamins.

EDIT: there is a Direnza sports cat downpipe on ebay, any good?

1. Yes
2. Should do but higher up
3. Yes, more air so more fuel is my understanding
4. Might as well get a 3" decat downpipe  :happy2:

Definitely 3" decat! Plus they sound great. You'll not been gaining much with out it, or at least with out a pre-cat delete anyway. I have an eBay decat and it fit really well my only gripe was the prongs were slightly out of shap,e but just needed tweaking.

It was too long ago on my eBay so it's not showing up sorry mate! If you look though, they're pretty much all the same other than the branded ones like miltek and cobra. I think I paid around £150.
