If this doesn't help you figure the bulb situation...I can try.

As far as the vcds setup...wuhchumean?? I run my fogs as DRL's and have the inner halogens set to flash-to-pass...and fogs to stay on with high beams.

When I had genuine xenons I had osram night breakers in full beam, quantum d2s bulbs in dipped and led in side light.  Ive done the flash to pass mod so when lights are off and u flash, only halogen flashes, and when lights are on and you flash, only the shutter opens

Now I've got depo ones, got a yellow bulb in full beam, 5000k bulb in dipped and led side light

This flash to pass mod.....

I have aftermarket projectors fitted and when I flash full beam (with headlight off) the old halogen bulbs flash, but if headlights are on at night the shutter opens in the projector and they flash as well as the hold halogen full beam bulbs. I take it the mod you're mentioning changes this so at night when headlights are on the car only uses the xenon projectors to flash and bypasses the halogen?

Correct, I had to do a tweak in VCDS . But it only works on OEM xenons. This is how its set up in the USA Golfs

Oh so I won't be able to on my aftermarket xenons?

Ah well. Maybe it's not a bad thing having double the full beams going off at once  :grin: lights up the road real good in pitch black Country lanes.

Yeah because your shutters arent controlled by the shutter wires from the CECM, it wont work

@croak2012

Yes its those Nokya ones. looks good as it matches the yellow laminx tint i done on the fogs.

Wiring it is easy if youve done it before lol. Just get it routed through the bulkhead, take off the under glove box foam and a few plastic panels, run it to the cecm, unclip plugs A and D, and i think its pin 5 on plug A and pin 6 on plug D.

Working on the cecm is the trickiest as its really tight space

good to know - I have bookmarked  retrofit xenon "how to guide" that is floating about- so will probably go ahead and wire it in at same time as installing xenons... if you have yellow fogs light bulbs  surely you don't need laminx too?

nah my fogs were normal halogen bulbs, couldnt find/afford yellow bulbs at that time.
