manual boost controllers ?
gillm:
anyone got any thoughts on this 1 ?
poko:
This sounds really wrong.
maybe i am not knowledgable enough , but it looks to me like a way to patch their 3071 software to your turbo.
as far as i understand , revo have a software that was optimized for use with gt3071r with an A/R of 0.63
you on the other hand are going to use a 2871 (what a/r?)
now , working with manual boost controller would either mean that they don't want to spend time to optimize boost in the software or they do not know how since they have no test car with the setup.
in any case , Afaik there is no way to uploade to the computer variable maps based on constant changing boost and you will probably be running either too rich or too lean , and with a software not optimized for your turbo , so power will not be brilliant as well.
i would love to also hear from REVO what is the reasoning behind external boost controllers. this is from the 1.8t age , really never seen it work well with the 2.0Tfsi
Revo Kev:
As Carl mentioned in the other thread you're posting in, we do not support the 2871R on the TFSI engine. The 3071R is a much better turbo to use on these engines. We do not support any turbo we don't see worthwhile using. However I believe this kit has been doing the rounds and was most likely picked up relatively cheap, if Gillm does want to use it then he 'could' use our Stage4 3071R specific software and a Manual Boost Controller. However this isn't something we support.
poko:
hi kev , i understand the issue and responded to carl in the other thread.
btw : the 3071 you support is internally WG on t25 flange or externally on t3 flange ?
Revo Kev:
We support the externally gated setup!
