This links on from my previous thread about all the warning lights (EML, ECP, ESP and tyre pressure) but has taken a little turn so thought I'd post with a more sepcific thread title.
The original fault was due to a faulty throttle body. When they put a new one in the couldn't get it to pair with the ECU - something to do with it not taking the base settings. They have tried the throttle body in another car and it worked fine, so that's been ruled out being faulty out the box. They have changed all the wiring and connections betweem the ECU and TB but no luck.
Ultimately they have exhausted all option except the ECU, so that is being sent off next week for repair. Has anyone had similar? Do you think a repair will work?
I can see three scenarios here...
1. There is no ECU fault... What else could be wrong!?
2. There is an ECU fault, it gets fixed and we're all good, but £Wedge lighter.
3. There is an ECU fault, and they can't fix it... I'm assuming a replacement is going to be silly money?
Just FYI I fully trust the garage that are doing the work, I'm just at a point where I can't do anything and I'm musing over what could happen!
