Servicing discrepancy
« on: November 07, 2016, 12:58:44 pm »
According to the service book, the car is due a service at 56,500ish miles, but the car is telling me when I start it up that it's due in around 200 miles (which will be 55,500ish) so a 1k  mile discrepancy.  Why would there be a difference? And should I trust the car or the book?

Just ignore the car service status as it was probably reset late or early maybe.

It's easy to reset yourself and plenty of how to online.

I wouldn't trust either. Sometimes a garage won't reset service light or will put it on long life. (Not good for old cars).
If you have a receipt with note of mileage at service might be a guide.
If the car is new to you & no receipts, then I would get it serviced and start from scratch.
