Small leak in passenger footwell and squealing when braking at low speeds

There's a small leak in passenger footwell in the top right corner any ideas? And my brakes are making an annoying squeaking noise when braking to a stop at about 20 mph. Any suggestions

Squeaking could be either pads are too low, or could just be the caliper pistons not properly lubricated (had this with my last car)

Not sure about the leak, although if its coming from the centre under the dash i would suggest maybe water getting into the heating/cooling system?

Re the leak; it could be the heater matrix. I only say this, as it happen to me in my old Peugeot 306. Not sure where the heater matrix is situated in a Mk5, or indeed if they're susceptible to this issue, but may be worth investigating. Seem to think radweld worked as a quick fix, but then the matrix needed replacing after it dumped its entire contents on my friend's feet going round a sharp corner.

Could the leak be caused by blocked bulkhead drains? If it's the matrix leaking then your coolant level should be dropping as well.
