New mk7 R
« on: October 19, 2016, 08:16:47 pm »
Hi not long sold my old mk5 gti (loved that car ❤️) to a member on here . Then set out to buy a mk7 gti pp and after lots of looking ended up with a R , you only live ounce.
Boy what a car it is , dsg like my old gti ,drives unbelievable the power just goes on and on .the best thing to me is the 4 wheel drive because the grip it as is out of this world .
Still getting to grips with all the bits and bobs on it and all so finding out little things I didn't know it had .
All I can say is if anyone is pondering getting one don't ....... just get one

Very nice. Any plans for mods? I'd love to go mad with one of these. Pretty sure you can crack 400bhp with the usual Stage 2 bits.

I envy your AWD

No plans at the minute , 300bhp is ok for me . Not really into engine mods (yet) , yes the awd is great first car I've had with it and it blows me away . No wheel spin etc

I'm sure you'll be tempted to get a remap at least when you get used to the power! And you'll be able to use every pony with AWD.

Have you tried launch control yet?

These mk7s are such a great all rounder, dead easy & relaxing to drive as a daily, yet come alive when you press on  :jumping:

Chassis is capable of so much more than 300bhp, but I've held off mapping mine

Hi absolutely loving the r it feels so good to drive and also feels a little special because there's not to manny white ones around at all .
Compared to my last car a mk5 gti it's around the same when you compare running cost .
In fact it should be better I think on petrol if I drove every where in eco mode ,but of course I and most people don't . It's individual mode or race for me . You just can't help driving in those modes because it's just so dam good .
Plus if you drove every where in eco and worried about petrol all the time I think you brought the wrong car in the first place
