Mine has a slight hum when entering the car. It is worse when the lights (sidelights or dipped) are on. If you flick between them you hear a noticeable difference! Unsure if it is my car or them all?  :rolleye:

Would that not be the hard disk spinning up or the fan on the back powering up

If you can't go the long way to work, then you need to go for a drive and rely on the RNS telling you how to get home after you realise you have no idea where you have ended up

Yes thats what I thought. It is getting ready to be turned on? The thing I dont get is the light bit. I dont know if it is interference or something? When the lights are on it is more of a mains hum type of noise. (like standing next to a powerstation.)
Any ideas?

Ps Sorry to threadjack!  :notworthy:

The faint noise is before you even put the key in the ignition. Im sure it cant be the hard drive warming up in that case?

Ollie, does yours make the noise before the key is put in? I also mean the RNS hasnt even been turned on yet!
