Have you taken the wheel off yet? Might somehow be a wheel spacer left on.....

The photo hasnt been taken dead on from the back because you can see the right wing mirror but not the left.

Its just wheel alignment anyway, nothing to worry about probably.

Take more pics as one from the rear isn't 100% clear due to being slightly off.

MOT history shows a recent fail for two broken coil springs !!!

I'd get those checked out to see if replaced properly  :happy2:

Yeah you read my mind. Been a lot of questions posted by new users recently - duly answered - that aren't followed up with any sort of acknowledgement or reply from the OP. I'll give him/her the benefit of the doubt and assume they've been busy getting wheel alignment done or something...

Sorry guys I have been working all day. Appreciate the feedback! I will check the spacer suggestion, and have booked the car in for an alignment on Saturday. Never get any time in the week.

From what I can hear I think the bearing on the back left sounds worn, drives absolutely fine. Car doesn't pull in one direction at all.

Welcome back

This might not apply here, and there still might be an issue, but it's not uncommon for the rear end to be a bit off from one side to the other without there being an actual problem behind it. It happened loads on the old mk4 platform; one rear wheel poking 10mm more than the other, 15mm discrepancy in ride height etc. Some cars just didn't sit properly whatever you tried.

I haven't seen or heard much of the same with the mk5, which stands to reason as it's a completely different (and loads better) rear suspension setup. But I've read about one car on a US forum like this.

Hopefully though after a quick check there will be an obvious reason that can be sorted. Let's hope everything is as straight as it should be.

Thank you for the knowledgeable input. I very much hope mine is not the one in a million! And that if its not then the fix needed isn't huge!

it makes perfect sense to follow up or even reply to the answers provided which some don't do but as you said AJP give them the benefit of the doubt
