Tracker installation
« on: October 31, 2016, 08:59:22 pm »
Hi guys,

Firstly I'm new to the forum and only joined to try to gain some information on the layout of the Mk5 Golf. I've never owned a VW but basically I've bought my girlfriend a tracker (not yet arrived in the post) for her Golf and intend to install it hopefully in two weeks when she is next at mine. I have fitted the same tracker in my Astra and now my Qashqai  and its relatively easy. The hardest part is locating a permanent 12v supply and somewhere to hide the two small GPS/GSM receivers (aerials). This is the tracker in question and is about the same size as a packet of 20 cigarettes:

All I am after knowing, is will there be room behind/above the glovebox upon me removing it or even above the fusebox which I think is located by the drivers side if I'm correct?

Failing that, does anyone know of a permanent 12v wire in the boot area and also has anyone accessed the roof lining easy enough for me to tuck the aerials in there?

Thanks in advance, Graham
